As all of you are painfully aware, gas prices are making it tough on the wallet to get out fishing these days. So more and more folks are turning to kayaks as a means to wet their lines. All you need to power a yak is a good hoagie and a choice beverage (I prefer the adult kind). And this trend is bound to keep growing - I can envision a day when there will be just as many human powered boats as gas powered on the water!

Kayaks are subject to their own special considerations, limitations, and advantages. This forum will be the perfect place to post tips, hints, questions, and of course, fishing reports related to kayak fishing in NJ.

Special thanks to Hotrod for starting this up...

Great start up.  I have been looking at Yaks for a while now but I am not really ready to make the jump just yet.  I do have issues with my hips so the sit on top boats are a problem and I did find one boat (Slo-Mo Boats) but for the equipment I want on it to make it suitable for me will bring it in the $2,000.00 range something I am having a hard time factoring into my budget (daughter starting college this year).

There are a great number of my friends that have sit ons and are having a great time and catching loads of fish behind IBSP.  I just wish I was able to join them.

A friend went out yesterday and reported very cold water at the inlet in the mid 50'S again which made the bite shut down.

Oh well enough os my ranting.  Good forum, looking forward to reading the info that it should generate.

Happy Catching

Paul

Nice Post Rod and Paul....good Idea. I have been researching Kayaks and am also planning on investing in one since I think it is alot more within reach for my budget.

Also, welcome SeaFlea. I see you are from Deptford, which is my hometown. "Hail, Spartans Hail....Hail Black and Gold"... lol, anyway, I hope to see lots of reports from you and don't forget pics and Locations! We need much more reporting from down here in the southern part of the state!

Welcome herder,

Welcome Aboard nice to have you join our little band.  We are a no drama board that loves to share the information as long as it goes both ways.  We feel that there are plenty of spots out there and if we can save a member some cash in travel time we have no problem with that.

Take a look around and once you post a number of times other forums will open for your use.

We have GPS numbers as well as contact information for a lot of the members out there.  So sit back and enjoy...

Again Welcome Aboard.

Happy  Catching
