Halibut Fishing?
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:28:55 PM »
Hey all,
Does anyone here in Jersey offer Halibut fishing trips? If so, where are the Halibut located? I mean, I know they are deep-water dwellers, but where can I find them off our shores?
Thanks all,

Welcome!!  I don't think they venture this far south.  They are found in Northern Atlantic and Northern Pacific waters.  I think you need to look around Massachusetts area and north.  I know Maine has Regulations on them, so they must be a species somewhat common there.  Of course when you get into the Canadian Maritime, you are pretty much guaranteed to find them there!

Good Luck!
