Hey Capt. Ant, I will be over at Grumpys a 6:30 hoping to get at least a dozen. I was told they were ordering more than usual. I think this early run caught everyone off guard even though we all called for it to happen, well it did, and now the fun begins.
The areas that seem to be working right now are the beach areas off Philadelphia Ave and Washington Ave. in Lavellette and the Ortley beaches right in the area of the 3 rip cuts. One just north of the snack bar and south of the first Groin, the cut about 20 yards south of 3rd Ave. parking lot and the cut right off the stairs at 4th Ave.
Right now it is not a pre dawn bite so going that early has not been productive and I know you leave early just a warning. It has been good about 1 hour before high tide till about 2 hours after high tide. That 3 hour window today I saw about 6 bass caught and all were on clams.
