just pick it up and throw it.. I grab the middle.. if large, I grab it twice like shown.. put in teeth and throw like a frisbe.. No need to flip it over your hand or shoulder and all the other crap.  I throw a 12'.. sometime grab it 3 times if its too large as long as your hand is at your waist and the lead if a foot or so off the ground..

Since there seems to be an endless list of throwing techniques, I'd like to know what techique is easiest for the beginner?

Come to the NJ Boating Expo in Edison Saturday at 4 and i will show you an easy way to get started. The best part you will do it yourself before you leave. I guarantee you get it.
