Raritan Bay Stripers 11/3
« on: November 03, 2008, 05:16:25 PM »
launched at Sayreville around 7,made some stops in the river looking for marks, found none, headed to open bay and made a short look in the triangle area and nothing so headed out,to make a long story short, tried Flynns Knoll, the rip,Romers shoal around the clam boats, tried everything, clams, live eels, gulp eels, also trolled the shad umbrella rig and came up with nothing for our efforts except some skates and Jersey real estate and also caught a large hermit crab that fishing buddy John kept to take home and show his grandchildren.then we headed back bay and made a stop in the terminal channel and did some more trolling and again came up empty so we headed back to the triangle area and anchored up off the rock pile the secondary channel and tossed out our lines with fresh clams on and chumed the frozen ones from the last trip, wasn't there 10 minutes and fish on,got it into the boat,a nice fat 31 incher that went in the cooler.hung around here for about an hour and that was it.headed in around 2:30.the bay was very calm, like a sheet of glass, stayed overcast all day, nice day on the water, still looking for that blitz.going out tomorrow morning with friend Ken on his boat "The Breeze".he plans on going to the Shrewsbury Rocks.maybe tomorrow's the day.  Kez
