Friday I was able to get out with a couple of buddies of mine and shake off the Thanksgiving gluttony I had. We headed north out of Manasquan looking for life. We had a late start but nothing looked promising. Since we didn't see any bunker/birds, we throughout spoon, mojo, and a stretch. within 20 minutes, we put a nice 25lbs striped bass in the box that hit the stretch. Reset and within another 30 minutes we caught a short on the stretch again. Unfortunately, that was that for the rest of the day.
Saturday morning, i got up nice an early and went fishing solo. This time i headed south. Saw lots of birds right before Seaside Pier. Decided to throw the same spread out. This time, white Mojo was king. Started fishing at 6:45am and maxed out by 7:30am. 25lbs and a 28lbs within 45 minutes. I spent another 1hr and 30 minutes practicing catch and release with 4 more nice size stripers all on the same White Mojo. I had fun sending pics to my buddies. This was my best outing for stripers ever!
