My buddy and I left A.Highlands at 4:45am. Started fishing shallow structure with cranks and Storm shads. We picked up 3 school bass to 27 inches and then found blues up to 12lbs. Once the light came up, we started fluke fishing over in the Ambrose. Wind w/tide and the near full moon current demanded back trolling. I got lazy working the throttle and put 20 ounces of lead on a fish finder rig.
Bluefish and fresh bunker strips on short leaders worked best followed by heavy bucktails on light line.
We ended the day with 37 fluke, 7 keepers up 23 inches.
Special thanks to all our soldiers, past and present for defending our freedoms.
Wishing us all a safe and happy 4th!
