A unsettled start to the week, but improving by midweek and for the remainder of the week for both weather and water conditions. Monday and Tuesday will have chances of showers and thunderstorms. Monday Day will have isolated to scattered chances with greater chances from scattered to widely scattered, even some more organized showers and thunderstorms moving in for Monday Night. These will carry over into Tuesday Day and possibly into the overnight. Tuesday will be mostly isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms, early could see some more widely scattered storms depending on the timing for Monday Night. Storms on Monday and Tuesday could be strong to even isolated severe thunderstorms. Wednesday will be mostly dry, but could see some lingering isolated showers/”sprinkles” as the cold front/low pressure are pushed out by high pressure. Thursday and Friday will be dry and sunny. Highs will start out in the mid to upper 80’s inland with low to mid 80’s at the shore with moderate to higher humidity. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s and low 70’s. By Tuesday Night drier air will move with highs into the low to mid 80’s with overnight lows in the mid 50’s to low 60’s inland and mid to upper 60’s at the shore with low to moderate humidity. Water conditions inshore, will also start out borderline to cautious on Monday and Tuesday on the oceans and improving to good to borderline for the rest of the week. Monday and Tuesday will see some wind gusts to 20 knots with seas to 4 feet, but by midweek winds should remain below 15 knots and seas to 3 feet. Overall, conditions will likely be good at the 2 foot height, however 2-3 and 3 feet are possible, so the borderline conditions will be noted. Rivers and bays will be good almost all week, although Monday and Tuesday could also see gustier winds and seas to 2 feet on the bays. Midshore to Offshore will be borderline to cautious all week, with seas to 5 feet possible, however, again, most likely seas will only be in the 2-4 foot range with a 3 foot average or so. The week overall looks really good, so just check those conditions often and look for real time reports or buoy products. Several days this week are noting some northerly to northwesterly winds, which will need to be noted, as these could be the days to produce those higher than forecast seas. Also Monday and Tuesday could see some fog and thunderstorm activity. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to good becoming good by midweek. Monday and Tuesday will have some gustier winds to 20 knots with surf heights to 4 feet, making Rip Current Risks Low to Moderate, even a High Risk would not be surprising. Thunderstorms are possible both of these days as well. However, by Wednesday and for the remainder of the week, wave heights will return to 1-3 feet, averaging 2 feet, with a Low to Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Water temperatures are cooler by a few degrees, however waters are still in the mid to upper 70’s. UV Index will be High to Very High at 7-8/15.

A cold front extended from the Western Great Lakes to the Southern Plains will slowly move to the east and should arrive in the region on Monday Night. Weak low pressure should develop along the front on Monday Night as well. The front will slow and move off the coast on Tuesday and Tuesday Night. High pressure will follow for the remainder of the week. The center of the high will pass over the region on Friday before moving out to sea on the weekend.

The weekend looks to be mostly dry again with highs in the 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and low 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look to start off good on Saturday with winds increasing into Saturday Afternoon and Sunday building seas 3-4 feet possible.

The Tropics are active with Danny now a Tropical Storm and encountering a lot of wind shear and drier air which will cause even more weakening. There are also 3 other areas being watched…1 off of the East Coast and 2 that have come off of Africa. The East Coast system looks to be heading off and not to be a problem and the 2 systems in the East Atlantic are worth keeping an eye on. So, watching where Danny or the remnants of Danny go and the 2 systems in the Atlantic will be on the agenda for this week. While affecting US lands looks unlikely, any or all of these could affect water conditions over the next week to weeks.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
