Went after work to fish a few hours of the incoming from 5-7, had very good action once the tide started moving. Finished with 7 shorts, 3 of them were triplets, they were half an inch from being keepers.
Today I went out for a little bit in the rain. There was a swell, but I got lucky to pick 1 fluke at 18.5 inches before conditions got worse.

Nice work, what area of a Staten Island are you fishing? No specifics needed. t^

I caught a fluke without a tail once.. It wasn't bit off recently, it just wasn't there.... Maybe bit off when he was young or a deformity. Wasn't close to being a keeper though.
@ Hunter, 95% of my fluking is in Great Kills by the harbor. Very productive area early in the season.
