Wildwwod vaction report
« on: September 19, 2010, 09:23:04 PM »
We made our annual vacation to Wildwood this week.  We took all the gear the last two years, and never used it.  This time we put the gear to use.
Made three land based outings while we were down there.
Nothing big or exciting, but we had fun.  The wife landed her first "shark", a small doggie by the Concrete Ship in Cape May.  We had good action will snappers and small blues at a couple other spots.

It's amazing how different the techniques are such a short distance from home.  I stopped at a local shop by the Hereford Inlet for bait and advise.  They said kingfish on bloods and blues on mullet.  I looked around the shop and coulnd't find the mullet.  Turns out they do filleted mullet rather than whole.   5hrug  It worked.  Even had a double header of 1lb blues on the fillet strips.

Funny thing is, I know exactly which tackle shop you are talking about, just from the "filleted mullet" comment.  ;D

Glad to here you guys had a good time while you were here...   TT^

Sounds like a great vacation Chris & Becky.  Cut mullet was the way to go even in Virginia as well.  What size hooks were you using?  I noticed that the cut mullet on the Croaker hi lo rigs seemed to work the best.

Happy Catching
