Fantastic weather day on the water today. Slow start but picked up as the day progressed. We came into nice drop and real fluke, but all except 2 were shorts.
I am a believer of Gulp! in general, but today the 4" Penny shrimp were KILLERS... WOW.. Thanks for the tip Art.
Art.. thanks for joining me for fishing, good times, and some Capt. Vic memory stories.. Can't wait till the next time.

Great report. 2 fish isn't bad...
Save the big ones for next weeks tournament!!
TT^
-
yeah.. couldn't even count the shorts, and most were last years keepers.
-

-
Good job Luna.... Yesterday was the same. We bailed more fish but didn't put a one in the box. Gonna make the tourney tough.
-
Great effort. The keepers are still a little tough to catch. The shorts do keep you in action though. t^

2 to show for your efforts Nick t^

we even did an experiment.. plain gulp! 4" swimming minnow on one rod, and 4" Penny Shrimp on the other rod...
Gulp! Shrimp won 5-0

All I did was dream about 4" Gulp new penny shrimp Sat night !
Up at 2 am Sun morning and watched the USA beat Spain in Basketball.
-
let me tell the members here... Gulp! products, especially the Penny Shrimp is the most amazing thing that ever happened to fishing.
-
Someone said they only work in the bay.
Well that someone is wrong ;D
Guess what guys they worked in 65 ft of water.
Gulp 4" New Penny Shrimp for Life !
-
Art, same site I gave you has it in the quart size also.
-
Nick Thx for the heads up t^
-
we been using them above our bucktails on a hook off a dropper, lots come on the top shrimp teaser
whole squid gulp works well too and that huge tail.

Jerry I am keeping it real simple.
Nick was shocked that I only use the Gulp shrimp.
I see alot of people using bait & gulp on the same hook.
Not me.
FF rig / Barrel Swivel / 17" leader / 5/0 hook / enough weight to hold bottom.
Thread the 4 " Shrimp so it sits straight.
No teaser
Bounce Bounce Bounce
Fish on.
I have the 8" Gulp Squid going to give it a whirl this Fri.

i wish the made that swiming mullet minnow thing in a larger size.
the shrimps do hold up good as well.
-
Jerry send Pure fishing an email maybe youur wish will come through.
-
Like I told Art the other day, one of the things me and Capt. Vic talked about a few years ago was also making a larger size gulp! mullet.
-
Has anyone tried the 3" New Penny Gulp Shrimp ?
I have 1 pack that has not been used yet ?
-
I had less luck on the 3" shimp then on the 4, nick try the 6" grub it is bad ass ,many big fish on it ,it cost more but it is well worth it ,I also been doing good on the 5 inch squid
-
I was also eyeing up those 6" grub as well.. Art had some of them with him also... Thanks Catfish.. I will pick up some for this weekend.
-
Thx for the reply Catfish !
So in other words I should just throw the 3" Gulp shrimp away ;)
-
the smaller fish will hit it the same as the mullet but the bigger fish seem to jump on it ,I noticed a big difference in the size of the fish when we switched to the bigger one and the action is better than the mullet
-
I hung mine in the garage on the wall of shame ,I am gonna grind the 2 packs that I have up and mix in w/ my chum .I dont like any 3" gulp for fluke in our waters.

.
Jerry, there is a 6" GULP swimming minnow. Give Har-Lee Rod in Jersey City a call as I know they had them in stock earlier this summer. Try to rootbeer color, saw a few nice fish come up on them this past Sunday.

I started using Gulp last year - either the jerk shad or the shrimp, and had good success. This year I started putting both on the line with a jig head and a dropper, and a new penny shrimp on top outfishes the shad about 3/1. The two combined seems to outfish either one alone about 2/1.
