I like the use of the trimmer.  But if I were tying I would of used longer material and divided it in 2 and like he did with the flash fold it over and tie it.  This way no need to trim at all.

Too funny to see a video I made for a guy on another site learning to make bucktails end up on here.

Hope it shows how easy they are to do.
Reason for leaving the extra hair out side the collar is for durabilty,
when hair is just under the throat wraps it pulls out easily, anyone fishing sproes has had this happen,
by leaving the hair out of the collar it really locks it in place making it almost bluefish proof.

Good video Capt. Dan.  I guess it could be true I have not had to much problems with it though.  The problem that arises first it seems is the loss of paint on the jigs.  Especially when fished around jetty rocks and the inlets.

I have found if you powder paint and then oven cure, they last a little longer, but the rocks def beat them up, I think a beat up jig catches more fish though.

One thing I forget to add in the video is I put a drop of super glue on the jig neck before I start tying the thread, it seeps through really locking the thread in place from bottom to top ,once coating with the sally hansens
