A mixed weekend with rain and cautious water conditions. Rain will move in Friday Night, with some northern locations seeing freezing rain and even some flurries. Ice accumulations will be 0.01 inches or less and any snow accumulations will be less than 1 inch. This should be isolated to Northern NJ tonight. Rain will continue statewide on Saturday and will linger into early Sunday, mainly across northern areas. Sunday for most will be clearing with sun, but isolated or scattered showers are possible during the day. With increased rain, recent rain during the week and snow melt, flooding from rivers and streams is possible. Streams and rivers will rise, but forecasts keep rising below flood levels. Be aware if you reside near an inland flooding area. Highs will be in the 40’s and 50’s with lows in the 30’s. Water conditions will be borderline to cautious most of the weekend. Some areas may see some good conditions mixed in, but overall some gustier winds and building seas. Offshore will be cautious to hazardous. Surf conditions will be good to ok. Gusty winds and rougher and higher surf and likely in areas with wave heights to 5 feet. Water temperatures have increased some with most in the 30’s and some approaching 40’s including offshore. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 0-3/15.

Low pressure over the Southern Plains Friday Night will track northeastward through the Ohio Valley on Saturday before moving offshore of New England on Sunday. High pressure will then briefly build into the area from late Sunday through Monday, followed by a cold front cross the Mid Atlantic late Monday Night to early Tuesday. A secondary cold front may pass through out area into Wednesday, but otherwise an area of high pressure is expected to gradually build eastward through Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a low pressure system affecting the region into Friday.

Right now, the week looks dry with the potential for rain on Friday. Highs will be in the 30’s to 50’s with lows in the 20’s to 30’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good Monday then borderline to cautious the rest of the week.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
