Rolled out with my usual early season partner Howard on his 26 Sailfish today to see who was home on the early river spots. Couple weeks late compared to the last few years but better late than never!...shoved off at 8:30 a.m. in a stiff N.W. wind and 33 degrees. Fished the last couple of hours of the incoming and the first hour and a half of the outgoing with decent results. 1 keeper size bass which was released anyway and 3 shorts....along with some batting practice swings and misses.
Cold water yet....36.5 to 37.5 degrees...fish are a bit sluggish yet. Plastics were all we used. Lots of herring around and the bass were under them.
