The park is closed from dusk till dawn.  Unless you are actively fishing.  As long as you can show them (if they ask) that you have all the necessary gear for the amount of people in the veh. you should be good to go.

There is someone at the front gate 24/7, 365.  You will see a red light but just pull up to the gate's window and tell them you will be fishing that night.  You should be good to go once again.

Happy Catching

What I learned on Discovery Channel's Shark Week tonight...when shark fishing, after you've baited the water and thrown you're lines in, crinkle a plastic drinking bottle in the water. They're highly attracted to that sound.

OK we'll find someone to do that. Crap after I baited my lines and throw bloody fish in the water fishing for Shark, and you want me to go IN the water and crinkle a bottle?

anyone volunteering for it?

Steve

No one says you have to wade out...just enough to submerge the bottle and let the sound travel out. Or dare a buddy to do it to test a theory.  LOL

What time is everyone planning to get out there Saturday?
We're aiming to get on the sand between 6 & 7 so we can get settled while it's still light.

Just make sure you bring a rod for each of you or they may not let you in.

Definitely noted, I have a pair of surf rods i've had sitting around from my father. What type of Rod/Reel combo should I be looking to bring to get in on the action?  Never done shark before- Kyle

I'm leaving my house at 4pm, in hopes to get there and on the beach by 6.

And BTW capt rich.

I have 150 yards of PP on my reels, with about 102 yards of 40#mono backing. I have extra spools for my reels, but to spool a whole reel with 65#+ PP is kinda expensive..right?

borrowing an 8 ft heavy rod with a penn conventional reel to also bring with me. Will that setup be ideal if I spool it with 50# pp? I hate conventional reels though, haha.

You think they will let me on the sand with my Hyundai Elantra if I deflated the tires enough? HAHAHA!

Gotta find some cash and go buy some 50lb braid...think my reel only has mono and its not very strong. Hmmmm any suggestions on brand?

I use Power Pro braid. It seems to be one of the most popular brands.
