LBI SEA BASS REPORT 6/8/08
« on: June 08, 2008, 08:22:56 PM »
We left our dock on LBI today no wind no fog and plenty of heat. On our first drop a couple of sea bass came over the rail several nice size black fish that were released, cheeseman John released a monster 12lb 11oz.male that put a smile on his face all day. Every where we fished today we found the keeper ratio was poor about 8 to 1 pretty much a slow pick all day. Also caught today were some ling and some dinner plate porgies that were released. By the end of the day I tried a couple of drifts for fluke we did manage to catch a couple of fluke and a few more sea bass. Pool winner today was out of towner from Philadelphia PA. with a 3 lb sea bass. Depending on the weather next weekend we might do a combo fluke, sea bass trip hopefully this heat wave will get the water tempture up a few degrees and get the fluke chewing.

Actually the out of towner's come from NY and north Jersey along the North East train corridor.  The word out of towner refers to the luggage tags put on at the stations.

If you realize it is really an acronym.  Bay Head (or Belmar, Brielle), Elizabeth, Newark, New York.

I will have to research to see what the train stops between Phola. and Ac would have been during the early days of train travel.
