Yesterday, I had Bob G, Dave B and Dave R were on board. We made a run to the Shark River reef looking for blue fish (both Daves crave them 5hrug :-X). On the way out we saw South Paw Vinnie drifting just outside SR Inlet. He already had two nice stripers in the boat live lining bunker.
Spent a few hours at the reef and could only muster up one twelve pound bluefish. Had a few others started but they came unbuttoned.
While heading back to the barn we came across bunker stretched out about a quarter mile. Stopped and snagged some and dropped them down. Bob G was first to hook into a bass. Over the gunnel with a nice 36" fish. Next was Dave R who cranked in a 42" bass that pulled the scale down to 30#. Had a couple of run offs that didn't come tight. Called it quits and finished our run back to the barn.
Heading out again this afternoon.
