Title: Raritan Bay Fluking 8/12
Post by: kezsr on August 13, 2007, 01:53:56 PM
son Kez74 and myself out yesterday,he was the captain for the day. launched at Sayerville ramp at 6am.not a good start, a lot of crap in the water in the river on the way out,hit something and broke the bracket off for the transducer for the fishfinder, now we can't get depth readings while moving, drop transducer over when we stop.spent morning fishing different areas in the reach channel, son had one on that had his heart pumping, got it up top,one of the biggest skates I ever seen.we each picked a keeper just over 17 inches and I got one just over 19,he picked a few shorts but for the most part the bite was non existant.also saw a boat flipped over in the bay,sea tow boats there and the coast guard, don't have any details.had trouble with our out board bogging on aceleration, just had had some work done it.headed in about 1:30.dropped boat off at outboard mechanic this morning,so I'm out of action for awhile again.
