Blues in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon
« on: April 21, 2008, 06:34:39 PM »
I got this second hand, but my sons friend just called him, and told him that his buddy hit the blues late this afternoon out on the south jetty of Manasquan Inlet. Said he caught several, and they were in the 9-10 pound range. So perhaps they are here, I may go on a scouting run tomorrow and check it out.

Update: My son just got back from the inlet, he was sitting in the parking lot with his girlfriend, and they were watching guys fishing from the breakwall, catching one blue after another. He said they were all big fish, not small 2 & 3 pounders, but 9 pounds and larger. He also said conditions were real snotty, you could see the spray crashing high over the rocks at the end of the inlet, and over the breakwall getting the guys that were fishing pretty wet.

LOL, I never argue with my daughter either, waste of time. I think I will head to the Canal about 11 am tomorrow. I have some frozen peanuts, and will put out a rod with bait, see if the blues have worked that far up into the river(or if any stripers around), while I cast a second rod with a Fin_s to see if any weakies are around. Once the water is running to fast to fish, I'll head to the inlet and see whats happening there. Son gets out of work at about the time the canal will be running to fast to fish, so I'll prolly meet him at the inlet at some point later in the afternoon.
