Phyllis Ann Stripers Wed 25th
« on: May 26, 2011, 10:21:31 AM »
Got a text from Rod to come on down for an afternoon try at some stripers on the Phyllis Ann,  Rod,  Rod Sr, Jason and myself rounded out  the crew.  Got down to the boat around 2:30…loaded up the  gear and threw the ropes at 3pm with high hopes having seen the now infamous banana trip video and pics  from Rods last trip and the recent reports of big fish to the south.

Conditions were perfect out front with barely a wave besides the occasional boat wake… we saw life right off the bat with sporadic bunker  slaps pretty much scattered up the beach as we made our way north, nothing too concentrated though, but there seemed to be life in the area for sure.

We sight fished our way north along with a small fleet of boats stopping on any top water action we saw, snagged a few bunker at each stop and let em swim but there were no takers….the fish really seemed to be scattered and on the move over a big area with no real fishable concentrations.

Even the banana I snuck on board ( Jason spotted it in my cooler full of Coronas ) was to be of no help…We did throw it overboard half way through the trip to no avail….Got to thinking maybe this trick only works for Bob but had to try none the less.

As the sun got lower Rod pointed the boat south and again worked any visible action we could find…just a bit south of the inlet we did see some bird play and were marking life on the machine with some bunker slapping on top…really looked fishy there but again no takers so we called it a day and were back at the dock around 8.

Gota say after all the rain we’ve had in the past two weeks it was a perfect afternoon to be on the water with the sun shining on our faces, lot’s of laughs…a couple of cold beers and a great time!

Joe…I know you hate Rods deck chairs but man are they comfy..…..Rod I think there’s room for two more of those babies or maybe we could get a small sectional and a coffee table back there…that cockpit on the Parker is huge!!

Jason Good to see and fish with ya….Nice to meet and chat with Rod Sr. and Rod thanks a million for the invite…I Had a blast!!

Great report Kenny.  clp

Great fishing with you as well!  You're definitely a great guy.  Thanks again for the beers and laughs.  We tried our best out there.  Thanks a million for the trip Rod.  Always a good time on the Parker!  A sweet ride for sure!  Was hoping to see your Pops battling it out with a cow.  Next time.
Hey Rod, the only thing wrong with those deck chairs is that there's only 2.  ;D
Nice meeting and chatting it up with Greg from Reel Time back at the dock as well.  t^

It WAS the best day so far in May with the weather. (finally).
But it seems the bite is off.
Nice try guys. Get em next trip for sure slt

And Kenny,  once is funny with the banana thing.

I think you are lucky you didn't get thrown over board with it by Rod and crew mates. rofla smk

Hey had to try Paule...it worked on their last trip 5hrug...If we caught fish I think Rod would have a potted banana tree on board with the new deck furniture...

I'm now convinced it only works for Bob ;D

No more bananas for me rofla

Still a fun trip t^

Great effort guys.  t^

Next time, keep the banana and ditch the chairs. A fishing boat is no place for deck chairs. Jeeze, next you guys will be wearing dress whites and flying semaphore flags.  ;D

Hey, I remember getting a badge in that from the Boy Scouts. Blast from the past "semaphore flags" TT^
