Crabbing On Luna Sea 7/31/10
« on: August 01, 2010, 08:43:26 AM »
Nick left it up to me this week crabbing or fishing, being that we have not faired too well with the fluke so far this season, I wanted something for the family to feast on.
Nick being brought up with his father and my father inlaw has a passion for crabs and is very
good at finding, cleaning and eating those little crustations. LOL. He is like a man on a mission and god forbid if you miss a crab with the net he wants to throw you in after it. I had not crabbed in awhile but lucky for me I did not miss a single one.
Went up river to the oceanic bridge and right away it was game on, filled a whole busshel in under 3 hours, they were climbing out and trying to get a toe or two (ouch). Nick decided to clean them so we could have more room to start filling it again. He had 90 crabs cleaned in about 40 minutes and packed on ice ready to cook as soon as we got home. Continued crabbing and caught about another 1/2 busshel and called it a day.  Great day on the water and had a blast catching and eating those bad boys. Got 2 dozen or so left for eating today before I head off to work this afternoon.
Thanks Nick for a great day out again.

PS He tried to pull the old captain keeps 75% of the catch trick on me but I would have none of that 50/50 LOL

yes, snappers are up by the oceanic bridge, but very, very small.  Perfect bait size if you can net them, but way too small to catch with hook.  You are the Fluke King, for sure.. Another nice pull for TNT.

I might have to trade you some crabs for fluke so we can both feast on fluke stuffed with fresh crab meat.. lol.. I know a good cook also..
