Hi all, when you winterize your O/B do you use anti-freeze to run when you fog the motor out?
I see these winterizing kits that have a jug with a valve hose on it to add the anti-freeze solution.

You shouldn't have to, if you store with your outboard completely down (perpendicular to the ground) all water should drain out.  Can't see it hurting though.

I store it down and covered both upper and lower.


Also, don't forget to change the lower unit oil before you put away t^

And the steering and tilt fittings.
Don't forget to grease the trailer bearings after you pull the boat out. All of that water need to go.

Yeah, way too fast. Never even got a chance to fish.
On anti-freeze, never used it on outboards. I have heard rumors that certain motors need it, possibly Verados but not certain.
Also, do not run the fuel systems dry. You don't want to leave carbs and vst tanks empty.
When we winterize, we run them on a smoke tank[2 strokes].
