Went out today for another shot at seabass. Very slow pick of keepers. Lots and lots of shorts.
Hit four spots on the Sea Girt reef. Hit some fish on our first stop and figured we would have a good day. NOT. Threw out a marker when we had three fish on at once. Brought the boat back up past the marker. Put the anchor over the side and slid back to our marker. Perfect hook up with the anchor. But the seabass were gone. Seems like they were on the move all day. There and then off and the back again. We weren't swinging on the anchor either. We were pasted there next to the marker. Oh well.
Moved to the Klondike rocks. No one home. Stopped at the Ferry boat wreck, nothing. Lots of good markes but no takers. Moved to the Red Church where we had some keepers yesterday. Picked one keeper and a ton of shorts. Had five keepers all day. Five aboard. Not a good average. ;D
At least I was out doing what I like to do on my birthday. t^
