Today was the day for the shakedown of the Kristy Marie. It was supposed to be Luna Sea Nick and my buddy Paul. Unfortunately Nick had to bail because his son was sick. We left the dock around 0930 and hit the inlet. The NE wind wasn't bad and the ride was comfortable heading south. We ran into some bunker that were alone and to shy to net near the 3 mile line close to Seaside. Spoons went out and we soon had our first 42", 36# striper in the boat. We continued a bit south and found an very concentrated area with bunker and marks. We worked the same area most of the day until about 2 with a handful of dropped fish and hits while landing another 42" fish. Both fish hit white and green spoons in about 65' of water. Water temp was 53.
We even managed to redesign the bunker spoon....
The Kristy Marie is tucked away nicely until next time. There are a couple little gremlins needing attention but, nothing that should limit our fishing. Overall it was a good first outing.
