Title: Realtime Ocean Conditions for Saturday - September 1, 2007
Post by: Capt. Ed on September 01, 2007, 11:04:27 AM
Hi All,

My brother and I planned to leave between 7:00 AM and 8:00AM. The wind was howling.

Went to Pell's to talk to Pete. He said that many boats were turning around at the Manasquan Inlet.

Went over to take a look.

NOT FISHABLE!

While I think you could break through the Manasquan Inlet, we felt that the fishing would be uncomfortable. There was a howling wind out of the North/Northeast. There were 2 ft. plus waves with a lot of whitewater chop on top. We saw the Gambler getting rocked and drifting way too fast.

We did not feel like dragging 12 ozs. plus close to shore so we postponed the trip until tomorrow.

Went to Ronnie's Diner on Mantoloking Rd.

Will be out tomorrow ...

Stay home today,

Capt. Ed

Hi Capt Ed, I will be out tomorrow.  Give a shout on channel 10 if you are out.  I'm not sure what direction I will be heading yet.

Thanks for dinner and the opportunity to fish with others on this site.  Yesterday was a blast.

Joe

Hi Joe,

I plan on heading toward the Manasquan Ridge. It is a sort of "right of passage." Every year for as long as I can remember, I fished the ridge at the end of fluke season. If the fluke are not biting, hopefully the bonito/blues/albies will. I'll call you with a report.

Ant-Knee lives,

Ed

We fished the river today; had a lot of action just 2 keepers... Went outside once it subsided a bit and had a few in 40'.  Still sloppy, tomorrow should be good.
