Capt. Joe of the Irish Eyes
« on: December 17, 2010, 01:31:01 PM »
As always, a pleasure talking with you on the phone today, exchanging information.

As I told you, all the herring you want at the inlet if you want to make bait and freeze it for the coming season. I may even go down a little later and catch some just for fun. Feel free to divulge the specifics to members/friends, etc.

Also like to take a moment to wish you, and your family, and all my other friends and acquaintences here and their families a very happy and safe holiday season.

And may Santa have a large supply of fishing tackle in stock and ready to deliver to all of us, LMAO.

Hey Garry, always nice to hear your voice. Happy Holidays to you and your's Garry.  chrz

Anyone in need of a saltwater fix. Manasquan Inlet, incoming tide, lotsa herring to be had. Sabiki rigs. Catch em, freeze em, strip em out and use em for next years fluking.  t^

Thanks for the info guys. I just may take part this weekend.

I have a bunch of shad darts and flutter spoons from when I used to do a lot of shad fishing. Do you think they'll work if I tie them on dropper loops and make something that looks like a sabiki rig?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. You might want to pick up a sabiki anyway for a couple of bucks, just to be sure.  t^

Word is they are hitting on the incoming. Good luck if you go.

Skip, I believe the herring that will be regulated in the Delaware to MAYBE keeping 10 is the alewive. The herring in the Squan is the sea herring and they are not regulated. I am not 100% positive about that though.
