Being as I have'nt been able to fish the past couple weekends, drastic measures where in order. Took off today and tomorrow. Left NY this morning with my buddy John, and got to the boat around 9:30..Pulled outta Keansburg, and steered the Fluka Brasi straight out to the Mud Buoy. With only 2 Belmar party boats on scene, started a troll, pulling a fire tiger bomber 26a, and a Clark spoon behind a drail.. Our first Blue was hooked up in about 2 minutes.. Proceeded to drop the elbow on 8-12# Bluefish, rarely going more than a couple minutes without a rod going off.. After about an hour of non-stop action, killed the motor and drifted and worked jigs. The carnage continued un-abated until about 3:30 when Johnny and I cried uncle..Was hoping to contact some Bonito, or Fat Albert, but it was all blues, all the time.. Headed to the the Highlands and topped off with diesel in preperation for tomorrow's main event at the Mudhole. Plan to pull out at O-darkthiry, and head for the Glory, and work our way back. I'll add tomorrow's results to this post when I get home. Sorry, no pics today, but imagine Bluefish with various hardware sticking out they're maws, and you get the idea.. Hope to snap some shots of a pelagic or 2 tomorrow! chrz

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Wow.. What a day!.. Left Keansburg with Bro'man Rob joining John and I, at around 6am after filling the tank with P-nuts.. Quickly realized the forcast of 5-10mph winds and 1-2' seas was a bit off.. upon clearing the Hook was greeted with 10-15 NNE, and a tight 3-4' chop.. Decided to forego the 60+ mi. run to the Glory Hole, and instead started our troll near the Arundo.. Trolled from there to the Monster Ledge, and was covered up with False Albacore from the start.. Not sure how many we caught today, but lets call it Umpteen.. Rarely more than 15-20 minutes without a reel screeching, with many multiples througout the day..For about 2 hours midday, we cound't even get all our lines in before one would go off.. Off the hook Albert bite! Cedar plug in the wash was the hot ticket for the Albies. Worked close to evey pot I saw, but only contacted 2 Mahi.. Throwing P-nut around the pots was tough due to fast drift.. 1 shook off as it was being swung aboard, and another won a cooler ride. Both hit a green chugger behind a mini bird. About 3 pm. my Avet HX begins to wail, and I knew as soon as I grabbed it, this was no Fat Albert.. After about a 15 minute tussle, John sunk the gaff into the first real Tuna ever to grace the deck of the Fluka Brasi. A fine Bluefin of 38" that I guestimate weighed between 30-40#, that ate a blue/white Reel Seat Feather Spreader bar, way back. As this was only our 2nd trip out to the MH, we were all thrilled to say the least!. Continued to troll for another hour or so, grabbing a few more Albies, before pointing her towards the Hook at about 4:30.. The wind had laid out by then and we had a smooth ride back to the barn with a mild following sea.
