foul weather gear
« on: January 30, 2010, 10:46:57 PM »
I have already asked the boat and wader question, now how about other foul weather gear. what would i need for surfcasting?  what would i need for fishing on a boat in the winter.  I know the basic answers, but would like the opinions from seasoned veterans that have more knowledge then i do on this.  Thanks.

The trouble with fishing is it was better before you got there, and after you left.

I use Grunden's, Guy Cotton and Carhardts on the boat. All are quality items. And mot much difference between the quality from one company to another. The Carhardts are probably just a little bit lower quality than the other two but still very usable and durable, also a little cheaper.

When I fished the beach (years ago) I would have a pair of neoprene waders and a rain hood. Worked just fine with layers underneath. I would typically fish September to December when I did my beach stint.  t^

Grundens, quality material and workmanship....keep them clean and store out of direct sun and they will last you for a long, long time. t^

The under armor "cold weather" shirts have replaced 2 layers.  Worth the money

Can't go wrong with either Grundens or Carhardt.
