in with the new.  This thing has been on the outs for over a year!! Water dripping off a bait table certainly has taken its toll. 
   My 5 yr old has been with me most times out this year so playing it safe. Beating the solenoid with a hammer just wasnt cutting it anymore 
  Gonna open it up tommorrow at work, curious to see how bad the solenoid and armature look.

Just pulled it apart. Solenoid contacts were wiped. Armature and brushes didnt look too bad although water defintely got in.  No core, I bought new.  I guess I can now leave the "starter persuader"  aka Hammer, in the tool box

Nah, defintely not.  My schedule more than anything kkeps me from calling peeps. I tend to get  last minute stuff going.
   Truth be told, I aint kidding ya when I call her a P.O.S!  Got her in '98 for practically nothing. Did a little work, and made best fishing use out of cruiser that I can.  A little embarrassed since most guys run some real nice rigs here. But hey, I do what I can!!   Some day I'll plunk the $$$ on a center console. Someday.......
