blood worms
« on: May 01, 2014, 03:36:41 PM »
anyone else notice how small blood worms are anymore, ive gotten a few that werent even 3" long, i dont expect every worm to look like a snake, but paying a dollar per worm and getting some 2.5" long or so is aggravating, i dont buy blood worms all that much but i dont remember getting so many small ones or worms quite that small in years past

Yup smaller and more exspensive
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

When I ran the bait & tackle on LBI, bloodworms were just as expensive and scarce.  However, what we did when we got our flats in was to separate them according to size before putting them up in dozen and 1/2 dozen packages.  Naturally the smaller worms were cheaper.

That way nobody got tiny worms unless they wanted them.  For example, folks fishing for stripers would generally buy the larger worms and people fishing for kingfish would opt for the smaller ones.  To pay full price for tiny worms is a rip-off.
