Out Early With Two Buddies And My Son For A Shot At The Bass. Started Fishing Where We Left Them And Managed To Put 2 Nice Keepers In The Box. Also Had A Half Dozen Short Bass And More Small Blues Than I Could Count. The Blues Were Caught Jigging And Trolling, All Bass Caught Trolling. Also Had Some Shots At Some Nice Bluefin But Was Unable To Connect. Nice Morning On The Water. God Bless America And God Bless Our Troops!! Trying To Get Some Pics Up But Having No Luck.

Nice catch Chris. I have tried for them 'close in' bluefin a few years ago at the rocks. They wouldn't hit a thing.

The one that was stuck on the sandbar was easily 70lbs, give or take...in the Ocean Beach 2/Normandy Beach Area. It was definitely a school of them, what they were chasing, couldn't tell you. I didn't see any visible bait. I don't know who it was, but they ventured out and dragged the fish in and was off the beach...quickly!

Managed to get one cell phone pic to post. I left my camera in the dock box so the better pics will have to wait. My home port is Shark River. The bluefins are on the sand eels and one of my buddies caught a 44" fish on a popper. We chased around some breaking fish but they were up and down so quick it got real frustrating real fast. We never got a cast close to one where I would think we had a legitimate shot.
