Went out to north beach and picked a spot right at the edge of the "no tresspassing, endangered species" signs and casted out at around 2:15 in the afternoon.

Tide was coming in fast, reached high around 4:30-5PM. During the 4 hours I was there all I pulled out was two sea robins. I was fishing with squid strips, nothing fancy, draggin the bottom for fluke, not even any shorts.

I watched a large school of fish follow the shore about 25-35 yards off the shore moving north. Couldn't make out what they were but there was a lot of them.

That's all I have to say about that, haha. Still trying for my first fluke of the season, we'll see what happens next time!

soxfan, i did that about 2 weeks ago, 1 short and a few robins in a few hours. dont even bother going there anymore, its to long of a walk and i never see anyone catch anything of keeping size, or any nice stripers. it may be a good spot at times, but never when im there have i had or seen any luck. i changed over to the manasquan inlet or on the beach there by the jetties in point pleasant, ive been there 2 or 3 times since switching from sandy hook, dozens of shorts, few keeper flukes and the one nearly 23 inch fluke, but i know they are there, blues even take a run through there once in a while. it is worth a try to go try a place different, i decided to pass up the sandy hook exit the one morning and it paid off
