Phyllis Ann - Canyon Run - 7/20
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:56:12 PM »
Pulled  out a little later than planned due to the fog..  since it wasn't lifting we headed out anyway.

Was greeted to 6-10 foot visibility for the entire 7 miles run to the inlet.  thank god for my Navigator Greg and Carl and the Radar.  Could have just painted every window in the cabin black..  and it wouldn't have made any difference..

Fog didn't  lift but only a half hour about 10 miles out. 90% of the run was only buy the equipment.

Found a nice location with a lot of life and set up shop.  chatter and the radio didn't sound promising..

Jumped around all day from hump to lump and hit a couple of the Scallop boats.

Always good to fish around Adam Sherer..  Since he won't wait to see whats under the boat.. he just suites up and dives in.. ;D speargun in hand ;D  "Whats under there Adam"?  ah.."just sharks and Rays"...  fcp ;D

Throughout the day the chatter was a lack of fish again.  and those that got them put a lot of hard work on the jigs.

Met up with Capt. Joey G And Capt. Rich late afternoon and watched the king of all tuna.. hook a nice bluefin on the Jig.. (RicH) t^

Played around in that area.. dodging whales.. and managed two hook ups that came un buttoned fcp

All in all another great trip with good friends..  seas were "friendly".. and we made good time out and back..

Nice try guys!  Was hoping to see the decks all bloody!  ;D
Just getting out there and back safe and with no problems, makes it a great trip in itself.  I know my journey out there with the BBC was one of my most memorable trips ever.

You'll slam 'em next time guys!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Rod, I saw the NJSWF flag in Capt Joe G's pic of your boat.  How do we buy one???  I can't find it in the store and have to have it!

Nice shot at it Rod and guys. clp
Get 'em next time.
Sounded like you really got a chance to work your navigation skills with all that fog.
Probably smoked a whole pack just to clear the inlet.
Great job. t^

I have been out there a few times with out any luck, but it was worth it every time. Just the adventure is neat. let me know if you ever need a spot filler.  Yes count me in for a boat flag.
