Title: Engine Fire today
Post by: Luna Sea 5 on October 27, 2014, 10:06:47 PM
Ran down to the shore house to help my brother take his pontoon boat out of the water.  He started it up and as it ran at idol for a few minutes, it exploded and caught fire.  Yes.. we were safe.. Yes he is insured.. but what a shock.. .thank god we were still at the dock..

Was it an evinrude?  Mine blew a schrade valve out that is used to test fuel pressure.  Sprayed gas all over the place but luckily there was no fire.

Think it is a 2006.. Mercury.. waiting on insurance, then he has to decide to keep the pontoon and buy a new engine, or put a down payment on a new pontoon boat..

Haven't used it since we called you for that last issue..
