Took my son and his friend Mark for a late afternoon/early evening fluke trip on the Misty Morn. The wife bailed on us--no surprise there ::).
Got to the boat early so the boys could catch some snappers for bait. They put 10 in the bucket before we left. I ended up releasing half as I didn't think we'd use them.
Wind wasn't has bad as earlier in the day and by the second hour of the trip it was pretty calm.
Fishing was slow. 20 fares put only 7 keepers in the boat. Mark had 1 of those--his first ever keeper t^. Jason got 1 short but enjoyed himself more helping the mate net shorts and refilling bait cups. I tallied 5 shorts, 2 coming on a chartreuse/white clouser minnow teaser, 1 on strip/spearing combo, 1 on a snapper and 1 on a gummy shad used as a teaser fished over a Spro.

Yup, there a few guys fishing the starboard stern corner and my son and his friend on the port stern corner. Lots of snappers in the creek. Most were a tad bigger than I like to use for bait.
Even to this day I love taking a few hours on an ultra light spinning gear and going snapper fishing.
BTW one of the guys who was fishing before we left had a nice fluke (looked to be around #3) only to have it spit the hook at the surface.
