2 qts water
2 cups potatoes, diced
1 cup of celery, chopped
1/2 cup onions, chopped
2 Tbsp powdered chicken base or shrimp base if ya can get it
pepper to taste
1 lb fresh shrimp peeled and deveined
approx 3 oz corn starch
fill pot with the water and bring to a boil. Add the chicken or shrimp base, celery, onions and potatoes. Continue to simmer till the veggies are cooked. Add shrimp and bring to a boil once again. Now add corn starch to a little bit of cold water and stir till totally dissolved. slowly add corn starch mixture to the soup stirring continuously till soup thickens to your desired consistency. Add pepper to taste ............

Sounds like if you add cream and butter you have the make'ins of a good chowd'a. I guess you could add clams as well.

I just finished a pot the way it is written, not meant to be a chowder and its bangin...... Striper would def work also...
