Title: Spearfish - Wildwood last week
Post by: Spearfish on August 10, 2009, 02:18:16 PM
I was in Wildwood last week and I had to get out fishing while there. Capt. Ron - If you think fluking is tough up here try South.  I went on a party boat out of Cape May one day last week and had an enlightening experience.  There were a total of 14 shorts and 2 keepers for 18 fares on the boat.  I had both keepers and my son had 2 shorts.  I won the pool with an 18.5" fish and the other was just over 18".  There was 1 bluefish or should I say snapper and a few garbage fish taken as well.  Hold your head high when you bring home 4 keepers from Raritan Bay.
We also fished off the beach/jetty twice.  We landed 5 fluke there with one probably being keeper size, but I let it go because I didn't want to deal with one fish.  I'm hoping to be back on the Raritan Bay this week for some real fishing.

Nice vacation fishing!  Funny how you had more action in the surf than on a boat.  I wonder why they have such bad fluking down south 5hrug?
