Cashin, Scott G and myself pulled out of Keyport heading towards the Scotland Grounds at 8am looking for some bottom action. We anchored up on some rocky bottom with good marks. The water was 68.5 deg and the tide was just starting to ebb. We boated fish on every drop even double headers of Seabass, Porgies and some junkfish. Mostly shorts though :P. I paid out some line and wiggled a bit with the same results. Made a move east to some old time hot spots and noticed the birds working on the top. We had good readings on the sounder so the small metals went out. Ava 007's and the deadly d1cks, ::)..
Scott G hooked up first with a nice Albacore that fought hard. Next Albie hit my ::) And gave me a great fight on the light tackle Star plasma rod with 30lb braid and 15lb fluoro leader with a Shimano Corvalus 300.
We played for a while with the Albies and called it a day for some quality family and friend time back at home. TT^
The Sea robbins were hitting the small jigs hard and had a bunch of robbbins follow up the hooked fish, It was a cool sight because the water clarity was great that day.
I have reports and pics of Striper limits off Sandy hook so its time to switch over..
Good Luck, Eddie
