Hi,
What a great site you have going. Although I am not a fisherwomen. I do enjoy your site.
Unfortunately I can't take to the water if the boat is not moving I get (seasick).
However thank God my son and husband are very sea worthy and my son Younggull is often on the site.
Thanks for welcoming the women who do enjoy fishing. I myself am a golfer.
Josie
-
nice to have you, and yes. YOUNGgull is ALWAYS on here with his great catches.
-
Welcome to the site Josie. Yup, guys post on this forum too. TT^ But no need to get you alarmed, it's all good. Any questions, just ask away.
If you get seasick there are some posts about remedies for that. There are also some posts about fishing from the shore. One of the members, Ped, is doing a great job on finding and reporting shore based fishing spots. You may want to try one of them out.
Oh yead, FOREEEEEEEEE. I chase the stupid little white ball around at times myself. TT^
YoungGull has put some posted some nice catches on the site. t^

Hey all,
I consider myself very fortunate to have two wonderful parents that supported me in all my outdoor activities.
Also I am thankful Ma took lots of pictures of many of my catches(not just fish)as I grew up........She even let me skip a day or two of school to do a little extra fishing! :-*
As a kid Ma would take me fishing when Dad was @ work........That was great!
SOund like a kid only a mother could love! Welcome aboard Josie t^

Howdy Doo! I have posted in skirts, heels and reels and am proud to say so. I think you're gonna have a lot of fun here.
-
Hi - I've been fishing freshwater since I could hold a rod. I turning to saltwater now that I live in Monmouth County. I know nothing about fishing the shore or rivers but I'm learning a lot from this forum.
At this point I'm happy just to be on the water and am not particular about whether I'm catching blues, fluke, bass or bait fish but I have a feeling that will change with experience.
I have to say shopping for rod, reel, lures, etc has been overwhelming but the information on this forum has helped a lot. Looking forward to learning more from you.
-
Welcome KMLIG! Saltwater is fun and has LOTS of opportunities and species of fish to catch. Don't give up your freshwater though...there is always down time in the seasons, weather or activity and freshwater can fill in those gaps nicely ;D. You get the best of both worlds. Saltwater is not all that different from freshwater either.
What type of saltwater fishing are you looking to do? Back Bays, Rivers, Surf, Boat, etc...??
Lots of great people here that will help in any way they can. There is usually always someone here that can answer your question and help in some way!
TT^
-
slt WELCOME slt
-
Thanks! No, I'll never give up my favorite lake. My mother and father still live on it and I pull out my gear nearly every visit! t^
I will probably do mostly river and bay fishing. Since my hubby doesn't fish he's happy to just be out on the boat, and we live in Middletown so the Navesink, Shrewsbury and Raritan bay are all a few min away. When the weather is right we'll even venture out into the ocean but probably not too far off shore.
I've been looking at Avet SX reels and found a St Croix rod that looks pretty good. I'm a spinning person so the conventional set-ups are a bit daunting to me but after all my reading on forums I get the feeling conventional is the way to go.
For spinning I have an older Shimano baitrunner 4500 (I think) that I'm going to clean up and will pick up a rod for some lighter tackle river and bay fishing.
-
Avet reels are great! Match them with a chaos rod and your golden. My only spinning setup is for throwing metal at blues and snagging bunker. Welcome to the site grtn
-
A lady who knows what she wants. slt <'((((><
-
Sounds like you got it all covered! Good luck this coming season. Lots of opportunity in the Bays/Rivers to catch fish or even close to shore out front. Look forward to your reports.

Hi, I'm Bunkerchaser.
I female that likes to fish, boat, etc. I have no issues with baiting my own hook, even though using bait is cheating min my book. ;D
So far i like what I see on thsi website.
Anyone have any updates? I have heard that the fish are slowly coming out there in the bay areas....
Hopefully the water will warm up soon and we can have at it with those stripers!

I'm in too! Great idea Bunkerchaser! t^

Theresa would probably be down for that challenge. Maybe a fluke trip on a party boat?
-
I'll have to think about that.. lol!
-
not enough women for that one.. i don't think..
-
Figure just hitting an open party boat makes it easier on everyone. Weather issues, cancellations, etc.
-
not enough women for that one.. i don't think..
That's fine... I like being the underdog. The ladies will just have to cat twice as much!!!
noooo problemo.
Since twice as much as 1 is only two I think we will do just fine! >:D rofla
Party boat could be fun. It can be like a nice little event to do in June or July sometime.
Just an idea. Might as well have an event doing what we all love doing, right?
-
That would be fun.. But I think it would work great on a head boat..
-
What a great idea! It would be nice to have more ladies involved with fishing and boating. As a female captain, I have had many men tell me their spouse has no interest in fishing or that they are afraid of the boat. I believe part of the problem is that they've never really been shown. So guys, if you want your lady to join you, teach her some basics and take her for a easy ride down the river...once she catches that first fish, she'll be
'hooked'..
-
New to the site and looking forward to checking the ladies forum out! I'm "secretary" of a fishing club and last time I brought up a woman's event with the members wives/partners I received a collective sigh/groan! :-\
Guess my guy is one of the few that enjoys having his lady out while fishing. ;D

Let's do it! Guys vs. girls! I'd love to give the ladies a spanking!
That didn't sound right. >:D

Welcome always nice to see the ladies on the site! Wish I could get Cathy to sign up under her own name instead of popping on under mine. I go to my lates postes link and there are only a few posts there because she was on under my name rgmn rgmn Hey Rod while we hav ethe ladies attention you have those facey baskets made up for the wifes for the dinner none of which are fishing related, some of the ladies I think would put chinese auction tickets in a bucket for one of those pink fishing rods combo set ups designed with the ladies in mind As long as we can keep Eddie away from it ;D Just my 2 cents
-
Sounds like a GREAT idea. Guys, don't let your testosterone get too riled up.......almost every women I've had on my rig have beat the men HANDILY!!! So watch what you wish for, it could be embarrassing.
I run a womens only charter with a group of 4 steady customers who happen to be very good at what they do...catch fish.
-
Very cool Cap'n John. t^
-
Sounds good, Pink fishing rods too. t^ ;D

My wife is my #1 fishing partner and she out fishes most of my friends. One guy, I won't mention Mike by name, went home pouting after she put him in his place, and whenever I invite him on the boat, his first question is always "who's going? ".<'((((><

I'm in! I have ben trying to get this thing going since April 2009!!!
Lets make it happen this year.
My ex loves to fish and so do I. He hated it when I would join him, probably because I would put him to shame!!! nts
Love it!
Lets go LADIES!
-
If we think we can make it work. let's see what we can do. and how we "should Do it"..

Am looking forward to getting wet as soon as the temps rise and fishies start getting hungry in the ocean. TT^

If we think we can make it work. let's see what we can do. and how we "should Do it"..
??? 5hrug Anytime we have a site sponsored trip, we have more people who want to go then spots available, and not often do any women attend. Imagine if a few women actually signed up, we would need the Queen Mary to hold all of these guys! A family beach/surf fishing party/contest maybe? ??? 5hrug <'((((><

I agree with the surf fishing idea clp clp

Now your talking... TT^ chrz

Just a little update. Went on the Seahawk last week and had a great time. Everyone was friendly and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful.
Fishing was slow but I managed to catch one nice blue on a light rod/reel. Nice fight that I barely won. Blues sure do like to dive, huh?!
Tried to post a pic but it the file was too large (I said the file, not the fish!) ;)
Thanks, Capt. Mike and the 2 Jesses!

P.S. Yea, lol Blues will dive and dive and dive again!!! Lots of times, they will bite though the line on the 2nd or 3rd dive... but how much fun was it catching him!! t^ t^ Ms. Fish

I am a women who loves to fish. I actually keep my supplies in the car so I am always ready to fish. I find myself fishing alone. A question I have is where are some good places for a female to fish and feel safe at the same time? I live in Hamilton.

Thanks Fluke!
-
Fresh water or salt water? Hamilton in Mercer County or Atlantic?
For freshwater in Mercer County you have Mercer Lake in the Mercer County Park or Gropps Lake on Broad St.
For saltwater jump on I-195 and motor on over to Belmar. Plenty of party boats, inlet or surf fishing opportunities.
Good luck on your fishing and welcome to the site.
-
I am in Mercer County. I only freshwater. Never had anyone introduce me into saltwater.
-
Welcome grtn, So you haven't felt the pull of a big saltwater fish yet? Once you do you will be hooked for sure. Browse around the charter and Party boats on the forums they are all top notch Captains. Striped bass season is approaching and they sure are fun to catch. Fresh water fishing is a blast too and I do both. Good luck and welcome. t^

Ah saltwater... nothing like the smell of the sea, especially when you're reeling in a cow of a striper or a big fat cod. Some great saltwater fishing this time of year. I myself love the winter bottomfishing season!
Will be taking my first offshore tuna trip next month. And while I'm a little intimidated, I'm very excited!
Welcome aboard!
