planning trip to florida in early aug wat would be best to fish for?

either in ft lauderdale or everglades not sure where we are going yet but i def want to do some fishing any info would be very helpful also if anyone knows any places to stay there and good charters would be great thanks

One of the best tasting fish down there happens to be the grouper.  I like mine blackened by the way.  Red snappers are a good bet as well.  In the everglades try for large mouth bass as much of it is fresh water.  If you fish the flats around Ft. Lauderdale you might pick up a bone fish or two.

thanks for the info fellas ill let ya know how it turns out i hear that peacock bass are fun to catch not sure how many are still down in the area tho
