Caught a couple in North Carolina.
« on: November 30, 2008, 03:16:50 PM »
Went to visit the parents for the holiday and dad was very upset. He has been having problems with his Johnson outboard, something to do with the alarm and the boat shutting down. After 3 trips to the mechanic and the same problem he was pretty ticked off, He was also disappointed that we could not go fishing. Friday he wound up going back to the mechanic/dealer and bought a new E-TEC 115hp for his 18' Parker which he will get next week.  Still wanting to go fishing he called a friend and we went out Saturday on his friends 22' Starcraft.  We did some trolling in the Albermarle sound and were marking a ton of fish but only landed 2, an 18" Keeper Striper and a 19" Spotted trout or Weakfish. We had a good time and now dad is stress free with a nice new outboard on the way. chrz

Nice trip!  At least you got out! t^

BTW, I haven't heard the phrase "18" keeper striper" in probably over 20 years! ;D

Sounds like a good trip all around.  I am sure that new motor will be put to good use next spring.  Or will it be broken in before the New Year is here... TT^
