Title: Roosters Flukin 8-27 Thursday
Post by: Peterooster on August 28, 2009, 02:47:52 PM
Northeast wind, light rain, cloudy with a chill in the air better than that hot weather of last Thursday.
Tom and I fished our favorite areas in the Southeast corner of Sandy Hook Bay to find very few fish of any kind. There were no Sea Robins to turn into our best bait so Bluefish had to do. The water was very clear when the incoming tide started. I landed the only two keeper Fluke for the morning, the biggest at 19½", Tom won the pool for the smallest Fluke at 8½". Very few shorts made it to 15", mostly smaller under 12". Tom couldn't find any Killies to trap and no sign of the p'nuts in the Atlantic Highlands Harbor.
