Wind and swell report look to snotty for me to take my boat out so I jumped on a PB out of Pt Pleasant to do some Blues/Stripers fishing. Overall fishing was slow. Fished from Manasquan inlet to Red Church. More offshore (2+3 mile line then next to the beach). We had shots/sputs of fish here and there but never anything big time. According to the Capt there were lots of reading but always on the move. Bait was rainfish. We jigged all day. Only Two stripers caught on boat (none by me). About 20 guys on boat. Blues were finicking too but it seemed everyone managed to get a couple of fish. High high was maybe 4 or 5. Used Ava 67 and 47 with no tails or green tails. 7 oz Krocs did better overall in my opinion. Weather wise - windy in morning but by 2pm it laid down some. N NW NE all day.
I didn't know John Bracket retired. He was a good capt. and ran a good boat. Jury is still out on new skipper.
