Welcome Aboard, will be down your way in the Spring.  My uncle and I went fishing on the pier off the Bay Bridge Tunnel.  Had a great time, now we were thinking about the pier trip with an added charter.  Will keep you in mind.

Happy Catching

Thanks guys, I am hoping all the work I am putting into this Hawaii project will pan out.  I have not been on as much lately and that is why.  I am trying to get the bulk of the painting completed this winter so I can have time to go fishing in the spring and summer.  This way I can finish up the rest of the paintings in the Fall and have them ready for around March of 2011 when we are expected to go back.

I am amazed that here on the east coast do not hear about how good the fishing is in Hawaii.  I did some fishing while I was out there this past July and it was fantastic.  The charters are reasonably prices and even below the cost of what we pay here.  The only problem is the cost of the flight out.  The prices on a lot os the supplies are about the same as here with the exception of certain food stuffs like milk, 4 to 5 bucks a gallon.

But, again thanks for the accolades guys.

I caught very little as I was out there shooting a wedding, but right out back I did catch a small Papio which is a small ulua type fish.  we used tako legs for bait and I also tried Mark White lures to catch some small ono but they were not to be had.

We bought our gear at a great B&T called Nako's and after words we donated all the gear to the local Waimanalo FD to give to some under privileged kids.

My sister in law and her hubbie went out and caught 3 Mahi Mahi, plus the marlin season was winding down but they said it was a good one with a number of 1000# caught over the winter.

Next time out I will be trying for the bone fish on many of the flats.  Just trying to figure how to get the fly rod out there where it wont cost to much.
