Title: Tuna Tales Friday 09-05 Very good wreckfishing - Cod to 25 lbs!
Post by: Tuna Tales on September 06, 2014, 11:56:33 AM
Fished with my nephew Eddie and Chuck for cod.  Left SRI @ 3:15 am and headed out into a S/SW slop...not bad but not what NOAA was calling for...

Ran 60 to 65 miles SE of SRI...made 17 kts in the dark.  Got set up on the anchor and sat like a duck...did not have to adjust the anchor which was nice.  We fished in about 180 ft of water.

Very good cod fishing right from the start...Eddie boated a 25 lber and Chuck boated a 15 lber.

Overall...Eddie was the hot hand with two 25 lbers.  Chuck had a 22 lber.  I had a 20 lber.

We fished for 5 hours and filled both big coolers.  The ride back was OK...it got a tad worse within 12 miles but still made 20 kts.

Not another boat in sight all day!

Great weather, fishing and some very good eats!
