Title: wb labor day flukin with Dad
Post by: wb on September 05, 2007, 02:35:34 PM
Sorry for the late report--- All good intentions of heading west to Keansburg/Keyport/SI area to try out some new spots (thx mboy & salty pig), but after another late start and a hammerin in the bay we rounded the Hook around 10 and found it calmer in the ocean. A few drifts put mostly shorts in the box and more robbins, so off to the rocks for a slow pick of cbass, shorts, and a few smaller keeps at 17-18". Never made it west except one unproductive drift a bit NW of the Navy pier on the edge of the reach (CG telling us all we are impeding traffic and no fishin in the channel...) Dad had the big (?) fluke but I had the slammer robbin yeah no good going on when your braggin bout that. Flatties preferred killies to squid, robbins just the opposite, cbass don't matter... Dad was in his glory tho and can't wait to get out agin. Way better than work....
