11/9 Sandy Hook Striper Report
« on: November 09, 2014, 06:32:01 PM »
To put it simple....longest day of my life.
rolled out on the 35' Sea Hunter again in the cover of darkness from Keyport....ran to where we had all the birds yesterday at first light....when we had enough light to see....we saw no bird activity at all. Ran around the tip and found just small groups of birds that would scatter quickly. Tried jigging small patches but no love.
Out went the umbrellas and joined the circus once again. Couple short bass outside...saw a few hookups on shorts here and there....had great marks but they had lockjaw. Once we tail hooked a spiny dogfish, I had seen enough for that area.
picked up and ran inside the bay and trolled our way home with a couple more short bass and blues. Straight out sucked for me  today.

Thanks for the report Carl.  I had shorts and blues too. Nothing you could have done to have a better day.  t^

Beauty of a day. Just no big ones around yesterday.
