Tuna Sunday 9/20 chicken canyon region
« on: September 21, 2009, 03:31:05 PM »
we had a tough go of things.  lots of skippies and albies but only 1 BFT.  tuna took sardines while albies and skippies took jigs.  slow day for tuna in our boat.

Nice try for the BFT. Get em next time. At least there was plenty of action on the albies and skippies.  t^

Good effort Chris. Falling temps don't help.

good job chris....that was the way it was yesterday....even the bluefish boats didnt fare well....looked like a "lock jaw" day indeed.

I was out on a friends boat Sunday as well a bit inshore of Chicken Canyon mostly. We started at the AP and had mostly bluefish killing our sardines. Moved off east and killed the albies on jigs but never got any BFT. Had a few runoffs on deep sardines that never came tight.

I did try your method in the video for butterfly jigging and it worked great. I jigged up maybe 5-6 albies and a skippy in just about an hour! Thanks!
