Has it ever worked for you?  Pretty important piece of equipment..  If it's from 1992.. I'd replace it t^

Replace it. Find the biggest screen you can afford, then take out the credit card and go one size larger.

its only a depth finder.  The screen as you say is about 2 1/2" round with an old school LCD display.  I acquired the boat in April /13 and never worked.  There is a Humming bird fishfiner transom mounted, but that only work at slower speeds 20 mph or less.  The boat tops out at around 35, and would like to be able to use it at those speeds.

You may be hard pressed to find one that holds bottom at your top end speed. On that boat I personally wouldn't replace a stand alone depth finder. Try adjusting the transom mount transducer forward or aft.

Be sure your thru hull is well sealed!!
