Continued heat and humidity with showers and thunderstorms the rest of the week with borderline to cautious water conditions. High pressure off the coast will continue to bring hot and humid air into the region. A mix of sun and clouds with chances of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms is possible the rest of the week. Some days could see some severe weather as well. Highs will be in the 80’s inland and 70’s at the shore with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60’s. Humidity will be moderate to high. Water conditions will vary from good to borderline to cautious depending on the time and day. Overall, borderline to cautious conditions will be present with some SCA’s. Fog is possible Tuesday and Wednesday in the evenings and mornings, limiting visibility. Winds will be gusty early to midweek and seas could build and sustain to 6 feet. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to good. Winds could be gusty at times and seas could build to 3-5 feet at max with 2-4 feet average and a low risk of rip currents. Water temperatures are steady in the mid 50’s to upper 60’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Extreme at 4-10/15.

High pressure will be stationary off of the East Coast through the end of the week.  A cold front will approach from the west on Wednesday and eventually dissipate as it tries to move through the area on Thursday. Another cold front will approach the area on Sunday and stall in the area on Monday.

The weekend looks like a continuation of this week, with sun and clouds with chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s. Humidity will be moderate to high. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mixed with good conditions in the morning becoming borderline to cautious in the afternoons.

Have a great week and thanks for reading! This week is Hurricane Preparedness Week. Information from last year is basically the same. There are updated daily videos that I will be posting, if you choose to review them.

Title: Re: Severe Weather Possible for Tuesday
Post by: Pfishingruven on May 27, 2015, 12:52:07 PM
With the hot and humid temperatures there is a chances of showers and thunderstorms today. Some thunderstorms could be severe with heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds. Storms are possible as scattered cells and also forming into more widely scattered organized squall lines.

Be aware of changing weather conditions today.

Title: Re: Severe Thunderstorm Watch for ALL of NJ until 7PM
Post by: Pfishingruven on May 27, 2015, 01:47:12 PM
The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for ALL of NJ as well as parts PA, MD, DE, NY, CT, and into VT and down to VA. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch will be in effect until 7PM and includes Delaware Bay, as well as all other bays, except Raritan Bay/New York Harbor. However, I wouldn't trust that storms know boundaries.

Quote
REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.
[/b][/size]

Be alert to changing weather conditions and have a way of receiving any issued Advisories or Warnings!

Be safe!!
